THE MISSION 

As someone who grew up in Whistler, and is still growing my family

here, I have a unique understanding of the community. I want

Whistler to continue to be the safe and welcoming place I know and

love, and to be accessible for young families to put down roots.

I am running for municipal council because I believe in maintaining

the spirit of Whistler and providing opportunity for the next

generation of locals. The goal, if re-elected, is to find ways to make life

easier for locals while maintaining the tourist appeal. 

The Issues 

Transit

While on council, I have done a lot on transit in the last 4 years. I helped facilitate increased transit hours and added new, efficient busses to our fleet. I will continue to work with the Province to implement regional transit and I am confident that will be in our near future. I’d love to continue to do that work.

Housing

I sat on the Whistler Housing Authority board for the last four years and also the Housing and Strategy Committee. I have helped to open over 200 new rental units. If elected, I will continue the on going work of building housing, specifically ownership units. I have and will continue, if elected, to advocate to move out of Cheakamus and into other parts of Whistler.

Affordability

Tackling the discussion of affordability comes with many obstacles. We need to see a change in transportation, to work with the different levels of government about providing more affordable daycare options and paying a living wage. All of these issues I have started work on and am eager to continue to do this work. Four years just wasn’t enough, there is still so much to do.
